Earlier this month the Cine Gear Expo was in full swing at the Paramount Studios lot in Hollywood. For me, it’s a 2 1/2 block walk over to Paramount. I like to drop in every year if only for a few minutes to check out all the latest gadgets, gizmos and technology in the field of cinema. There was a lot of buzz surrounding the new Panasonic AU-EVA1 5.7K Super 35mm Cinema Camera. What I personally find interesting about the camera is that it has an EF lens mount, and not having to use a ridiculous adapter to use my EF lenses is a huge selling point. Camera bodies will come and go, even faster now. The lenses however, will last for decades. I’m still using FD mount lenses that are 30 years old and they still look great.
