Panasonic AU-EVA1 5.7K Super 35mm Cinema Camera | Fill the Gap for $8K

Earlier this month the Cine Gear Expo was in full swing at the Paramount Studios lot in Hollywood. For me, it’s a 2 1/2 block walk over to Paramount. I like to drop in every year if only for a few minutes to check out all the latest gadgets, gizmos and technology in the field of cinema. There was a lot of buzz surrounding the new Panasonic AU-EVA1 5.7K Super 35mm Cinema Camera. What I personally find interesting about the camera is that it has an EF lens mount,…

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Faith No More’s ‘Angel Dust’

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a quarter-century since Faith No More dropped the giant WTF bomb known as Angel Dust on an unsuspecting world, but this June 8th does indeed mark the controversial and influential album’s 25th anniversary. Telekinetic Yeti: Stoned and Feathered

Telekinetic Yeti: Stoned and Feathered

There seems to be a never-ending supply of stoner/doom/metal on YouTube these days. This afternoon I stumbled across Telekinetic Yeti from Iowa. The band has popped up a few times in my YouTube feed recently, but today I took a chance on rock and was rewarded for my effort. Apparently, the band’s first album Abominable was released through Bandcamp.com on March 17, 2017. Do yourself a favor and check it out ASAP.   It seems that the two member band idea has really struck a chord with me lately,…

Photo Story: Miniature Perspectives

Photo Story: Miniature Perspectives

Recently, I headed to Texas to shoot a couple music videos with Ashley Worhol, lead singer of the band Worhol. Fellow Houstonian Tod Waters, owner of Junker Designs was directing the videos and enlisted my services to DP the project.   One of the segments we were shooting required the use of miniature models to create forced perspectives. An old friend from the local Houston music scene, Kevin Forbes, was great help in providing and maintaining the models. It took quite a long time to line up the models…

Photo Story: Roy’s in Amboy

On a recent shooting trip in California’s Mojave Desert, my colleague and I stopped off at Roy’s in Amboy on our way back from the Kelso Dunes. It was really hot that day and we needed a cold drink for the rest of drive home. I’d been by there a couple times but hadn’t stopped to have a closer look until this particular day.   For many years I’ve been a huge fan of “Googie-ish” 50’s style architecture, and even though Roy’s opened in 1938 and named for its…

Video: Junker Designs for Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots

I was recently enlisted by friend and owner of Junker Designs, Tod Waters to shoot and edit a promo piece for Jane Goodall’s Roots&Shoots program. I already had some B-roll in the can from an artist profile piece that I’m making about Tod so all we had to do was shoot the stand up segment that morning. I’m not entirely sure what this program is all about, but it has something to do with an event in London and this piece will be featured at that event.   This…

Photoshoot: Entrepreneur Of The Year 2017

Photoshoot: Entrepreneur Of The Year 2017

Yesterday, photography for the EY 2017 Entrepreneur Of The Year program continued with a long list of qualified finalists. We spent the day working with some very influential and innovative CEOs from companies in the Southern California area. Companies such as Stamps.com, Yamibuy, Omaze and Scopely will be participating in the program this year.   As you can see in the photo above, the photographic setup was a simple three point lighting plan. A key, fill and edge light did the work nicely on a gray seamless background. We…

Dirt hits the Shelves on June 1st!

Once again my photographic work will be featured in book form on the cover of “Dirt Don’t Slow You Down” by Magnus Walker, being published by Random House Books. Now on iTunes: Ballad of Isolation

Now on iTunes: Ballad of Isolation

I have released several albums for theHandsofBoom project through my label Six2Midnite Recordings, but this is the first release in which I have used the services provided by Distrokid.com. I would recommend this service to anyone that hasn’t tried it yet. With just a few clicks your music will be made available to all major music outlets, iTunes, Pandora, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon, etc. Not to mention, the price is right as well.   Ballad of Isolation is my first music collaboration with writer and long time friend Tanya…
